When Do You Need a Jumbo Jigger Dyeing Machine?
Jigger dyeing machines move open-width fabric back and forth between two rollers through a small dye bath. A jumbo jigger takes that principle to large-roll production: bigger main rollers, a larger maximum fabric roll diameter and wider working width, so a single pass can handle far longer batches than a standard jigger.
The SWRl400 series is designed for dyehouses that run pre-treatment, post-treatment and dyeing of various woven fabrics under atmospheric conditions - cotton, linen and viscose, as well as silk and rayon. It is one of the essential dyeing machines for the dyeing and finishing industry, and it meets the industry demand for small batches and multiple varieties: desizing, scouring and bleaching-dyeing are combined in one unit, which shortens the process chain and cuts fabric handling between machines.
Per our factory's records, the SWRl400 series is currently the jigger with the largest fabric roll diameter and working width in China - an important point when you plan long batches and wide fabric.
Core Parameters & Technical Data
Full PLC control throughout, with an imported touch-screen operating panel.
The mechanical structure is designed after imported jigger technology (the SWRl400 builds on the structure of Italian Mezzera jiggers) and improved in our own manufacturing for production reliability.
A speed-measuring device is fitted on the bottom roller to achieve constant linear speed; the signal is reliable, which is essential for level shades across long batches.
Integrated dye-liquor circulation and dosing systems give uniform dyeing and timed dosing - key for reactive dyeing, where salt and alkali must be added progressively.
The control system provides automatic reversing, automatic lane change, automatic length counting and automatic temperature control.
Top lighting, a fault alarm lamp and an emergency stop bar are fitted as standard for safe operation and easy maintenance.
How to Choose the Right Jumbo Jigger
Working width and batch size come first. Define the widest fabric you run and your target batch length, then check the main roller and maximum fabric roll diameter of the machine against them.
Fabric type decides the pressure level. Cotton, linen, viscose, silk and rayon can be dyed in an atmospheric jumbo jigger like the SWRl400; polyester and other synthetics require a high-temperature high-pressure jigger such as our GR680 series.
Automation level matters for repeatability. PLC control with a touch screen, automatic reversing, lane change and length counting reduce operator errors and keep shades consistent from batch to batch.
Constant linear speed and adjustable tension protect delicate fabrics from creasing and distortion, and are essential for level dyeing on tension-sensitive goods.
Check the dosing and circulation system. For reactive dyeing, timed dosing of salt and alkali through an integrated dye-liquor circulation system makes the process reproducible.
Choose a production factory, not a trader. Installation, commissioning, spare parts and operator training are part of a jigger's working life.
Common Mistakes Buyers Make
Buying an atmospheric jigger for polyester. Synthetic fabrics need temperatures above 100 degC; an atmospheric machine simply cannot fix disperse dyes reliably. Specify an HT-HP jigger for synthetics.
Ignoring constant linear speed and tension control. On delicate or tension-sensitive fabrics, uneven speed shows up as shade variation and creasing that is very hard to correct later.
Under-specifying working width. A wider machine can handle narrow fabric, but a narrow machine cannot be economically widened after delivery. Measure your real widest fabric, plus allowances.
Not checking the dosing system for reactive dyeing. Uneven or untimed addition of salt and alkali is a common cause of unlevel reactive shades on long batches.
Buying from intermediaries without after-sales support. When a jigger needs commissioning, spare parts or training, a direct production factory with a service system makes the difference.
Why Buy from Wuxi Runda
We are a production factory founded in 2004, located in Qianzhou, Wuxi - at the heart of Jiangsu's dyeing machinery industrial cluster, with component suppliers and skilled workers nearby.
We cooperate with textile research institutes and technical colleges year-round, and design and develop our own series after absorbing the advantages of jiggers from Japan, Denmark and Italy.
We build machines for small batches, multiple varieties and low energy consumption, with reliable and stable performance - the practical profile of most modern dyehouses.
Our equipment is exported to Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan, Japan, Thailand and other Southeast Asian markets, backed by complete after-sales service including installation, commissioning, spare parts and training.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum fabric roll diameter and working width of the SWRl400?
The SWRl400 series has the largest fabric roll diameter and working width in our factory's range - currently the largest in China, per our records. Please tell us your batch length and fabric width, and we will confirm the exact configuration for your requirement.
Can the SWRl400 dye polyester fabric?
No. The SWRl400 runs under atmospheric conditions, so it is suited to cotton, linen, viscose, silk and rayon. Polyester and other synthetics need a high-temperature high-pressure jigger such as our GR680 series.
Can it combine desizing, scouring and bleaching-dyeing in one machine?
Yes. The machine is designed for pre-treatment, post-treatment and dyeing in one unit, which reduces fabric handling and shortens the process chain for small batches.
What control and automation does the machine have?
Full PLC control with an imported touch-screen panel, automatic reversing, automatic lane change, automatic length counting and automatic temperature control, plus integrated dye-liquor circulation and timed dosing.
What safety features are fitted?
Top lighting, a fault alarm lamp and an emergency stop bar are fitted as standard, together with a speed-measuring device on the bottom roller for reliable constant linear speed.
